Faith formation & Discernment for Teenage guys

Every man longs for something.

In the mid-1800’s, Father John Bosco knew that the heart of every young man beats for greatness. He began a school for guys in the city of Turin, Italy. Hundreds gathered there to learn, pray, play, and grow as young men.

Nearby in a small, country town, Dominic Savio asked his parents if he could join the brotherhood. Dominic knew God was calling, and Fr. Bosco and the Turin oratory would be the best place he could become the saint God made him to be.

More than 150 years later, we are doing the same thing. Hundreds of young men gather for “Savio Nights”. We play and we pray, and we try to live the same promises that made St. Dominic Savio a Saint.

What do we do at SAVIO?

Pray.

St. Dominic Savio made prayer a priority. Every Savio event starts & ends in communion with one another and with Almighty God.
Feast.

Celebrating Feast Days & Sundays opens avenues for grace. And, ‘feasting’ also means that Savio guys never go hungry.
Befriend.

Savio wanted his friends to be Jesus & mary, and also everyone who also loved those two. That’s the kind of young men you’ll find in Savio.
Sacrifice.

Saturday morning fun-runs around Reitz Hill. Daily rosaries. Lenten cold showers or push-ups. Discipline yields greatness, because it gives God’s power a place to shine.
